The New England Aquarium's mission is to increase understanding of aquatic life and environments, to enable people to act to conserve the world of water, and to provide leadership for the preservation and sustainable use of aquatic resources. A biannual Lowell Lecture series, a World of Water Film Festival, and an Environmental Writers' Festival are educational outreach programs the Aquarium offers free to the public thanks to Lowell Institute support.
New England Aquarium
