ACT Roxbury Lectures
Boston, MA
ACT Roxbury (Arts, Culture, Trade) facilitates the Roxbury Arts Series, which consists of four annual programs that bring arts and cultural vitality to the Roxbury neighborhood. The Roxbury Arts Series teaches through theatre the history of African American people in America; conveys through film the reality of contemporary life in America; or captures through poetry and memoir the dreams, fears, and realities of neighborhood youth. Most importantly, events in the series counter stereotypes and challenge preconceived notions about what it means to be young, old, female, male, gifted, and of color. The series also provides neighborhood residents with access to quality arts and cultural events at low or no cost.
